this race is definitely in the tradition of the ol’ Rider’s Del Norte, Jerry Duran’s famed brutality on the Colorado Off Road Series…the race venue was located in the backcountry beneath gorgeous Pintada Peak in between Del Norte and Monte Vista, Colorado in the San Luis Valley…


i woke up at 4:45 am to make the 10,000 x 10,000 Mantra entrenched drive from Durango…

the race course was a LOT of climbing in Eco-Challenge style followed by a scintillating single track bomber descent winding around hundreds of Penitente Canyon style tufted volcanic outcroppings…i actually dabbed once because i was looking for possible first ascents on all these incredible formations….i have a rich climbing history in this neck of the woods and the yogic deities were soaring through my cells…

my Mantra’s and all my WF training paid off once again…can’t say enough about Asea Sacred Water, MAP Aminos, and Sunrider Herbs…once again:  the PATH WORKS WHEN YOU CHOOSE TO WORK THE PATH, baby!

my time on the course was 1:10:33 which was a new course record; average speed: 11 mph on the 15-mile course

after the race, i headed through my Blessed Northern New Mexico terrain to visit my M(om)…hitting up some of my secret hole-in-the-wall New Mexican food haunts and..


…time to Take Study at the Lotus Feet of incredible Yoga Teachers who help me with the restoration of yin after CRUSHING the YANG of the MTB race to the TOP OF THE PODIUM, baby!    still crankin’…thank you to all my sponsors and to the SANGHA SUPPORT OF YOU!!!!
