Race Report; Flagstaff Nordic Center
This morning, our unsinkable Coach finished 5th in the 10 Kilometer Freestyle and 2nd in the 10 Kilometer Classic Race to earn the Silver Medal position in the Arizona State Nordic Championships.
Only a (very fast) college student from the Pacific Northwest was able to hold off Coach by a handful of seconds in what was Coach’s first return to Nordic Racing since the the mid-nineties.
Coach broke a ski pole at the start of the Skate Race and had to do the entire race using Classic Poles.
Tomorrow, Coach returns to the Nordic Center for the third and final event of the “Flagstaff Winter Triathlon” by competing in the Western Regional USSSA Snowshoe Qualifier.
Yup, he’s bringing the hallmark WF CHI, baby!!
