a smile grows across my face as i tally up my sweat and stillness efforts during my 45th birthday month. the following black and white statistics do not lie; they reveal the fact that has continued since i was 14 years old and wrapped my hands around my first barbell; i walk my talk. and i try hard in so many ways of body/mind/spirit fitness in order to be a great personal trainer for you. my May Practice Stats the DL’s of this month show the wholistic versatility of our Beloved Path…sure, my little Asthma Challenge has put a new, unknown wrinkle in my bike racing performance, yet far beyond that is the steady, progressive, widespread inSights and Joys derived from challenging myself in the wild, wonderful Dance of WF…
MAY Practice Stats:
Strength Training =only 1.50 hours. down by 1 hour from April, although my friends in Durango were convinced that i spent hours in the gym each DAY! nope…
Cardio Training = 54.50 hours. increase of 18.25 hours from my paltry April. that is still only an average of 1.75 hours per day. far, far less than the cyclists i was racing against in Iron Horse. However, i am pleased to report that i spent 13 out of the available 31 days of this month, enjoying either a mountain bike or road ride. that’s wealth.
Yoga (asana) = 60.50 hours. decreased by .75 hours from April.
Meditation = 58.25 hours!!! a quantum jump by 18.25 hours, due in large part to the desire to Connect on the astral plane with my unborn baby daugther in Ananda’s belly. i have recorded many of these sessions for future help in Conscious Parenting. i was so pulled into the Zendo by the Connection i and my yet to be born Daughter shared; she has opened up a portal that is absolutely, well, Divinely intoxicating…
Nutrition = 54,735, an average of 1,765 kcalories per day which represents an increase of 10,875 kcals from April. Obviously still less than what is in most men’s ONE MEAL of my age, my increased amount comes from spending more time on the bike.
Bodyweight: 149lbs
Bodyfat %: 7.5
Through my own efforts in ongoing Sweat, Spirit, and the will to share their lessons with you, may any Merit gained from my efforts be used entirely to help all Beings in All Realms elevate the grounded wisdom of a body-oriented spiritual Path toward Enlightenment.
now, another month awaits; what new lessons lie within the yet to poured sweat and the vibrational hum of sitting still…??!?
we are Blessed…May your Practice remain strong and sincerely focused on Awakening.
om so ti,
the mountain yogi
