Another resplendent example of how feeble Feeble Ilg is:
tonight’s Club “Ride” (read; balls out racing). the 38-person peleton approaches “The Wall” (300-meters @ 14%) at high speed. my Ahamkara (Ego Self) is all like, “Ahhh, i’m typically good on this headwall, why don’t i stay where i’m at and just sit in the pack instead of attacking…” Yup, you guessed it. instantly gapped off the Leaders (who, of course, are attacking). the next 2.5 miles: chasing with Tino and David at 30mph. catch the Lead Group. 8 miles later: pressured off the 28 mph pace in the Lead Group due to energy lost in chasing and still trying to pull through in the wind to show all the kids that ilg is as tough as them. what can i say? i’m a bozo. spend the next 27 miles in a desperate solo time trial to stay ahead of the Chase Group (which i did, barely). LESSON: learn from my feebleness=attack into any section that you know is gonna be hard, cuz if you don’t? you’ll be off the back chasing. TEACHING STATS: 49.5 miles w/2,250′ of climbing @ 19.8mph (mostly solo). wish it would snow so i could get off these blasted bikes. Blessed Be Thy Sweat!
