Telluride, Colorado –
Saturday Night, March 10
Although unavailable for direct comment due to partying in downtown T-ride,
it is confirmed:
Coach Ilg has finished his remarkable winter performance season with yet another overall victory, sweeping the honors out from under stunned local T-rider’s
who are now, at this moment, buying him drinks.
“You gotta love the southwest,” was all we could get from an obviously high-as-a-kite ilg.
coach won the 10 kilometer Classic division by nearly 5 minutes in a wire-to-wire effort that is surely having the spirit of Steve Prefountaine as well as all the nordic gods from above smiling ear to ear.
Nordic Ski Racing, accepted as the Standard of Endurance Epitome by Exercise Scientists is generally recognized as the most brutal endurance sport.
The Topaten-K Race,
which coach won today in convincing fashion
starts at an heart-pounding elevation of 11,000′ and goes UP from there.
Story and photos by coach himself comining only to DIRECT LINES SUBSCRIPTION on Monday…errr, maybe Tuesday because it’s snowing today it’s gonna be a Bluebird day of tele skiing at T-ride tomorrow, and i…err, i mean, Coach might need to extend his visit back to his h(om)eland to capitalize on the conditions.
