Makes good sense R.A.  on the hair being an extension of our nervous-system.

Take the cat-being….. they use they're whiskers the best, like curb-feelers.

As for native americans…..  i do know this, told to me by our family-elder, about a year ago.   He says,

"As a dine'/navajo we are not to wear long hair in single or double braids, down our sides.   Nor should our hair hang long in a pony-tail."

So i asked why of course.

"Well…… because……. it invokes lightning, thunder."  "traditionally our hair is to be rolled into a bun(tsi' yeel')".

And of course with further thoughts afterwards it makes sense.   Lightning, thunder, rain, all good for Mother.   However… they are part of nature and nature deserves its respect.   With lightning & thunder can come death.

A traditional, navajo-bun, keeps it off of mother and appeases the sky.   Thus balance is achieved by the two-leggeds once again.   For awhile though.Wink
