Outdoor athletes may soon think twice about disparaging pot smokers — they could be chasing the same high.
Well, that’s not exactly true. But prolonged exercise such as cycling or running might trigger the body to release cannabinoids, creating a natural high, according to a recent university study. Cannabinoids, which exist in low levels in human bodies all the time, are in the same general family as THC or TetraHydroCannabinol, the active ingredient in marijuana.
