To satisfy you DL readers who seem to think that feeble ilg did not have it going on in the 80’s! This promo shot for my first book, THE OUTDOOR ATHLETE was actually taken in 1985 for a Great Harvest Bread Company advertisement who was one of my climbing sponsors during that era. Got to love the socks with the climbing shoes! What you can’t see is that my hair had these awesome (gruesome?) neon blue and blonde streaks in it and as was my hallmark, all my fingernails were painted with Tibetan spiritual symbols. You have to admit though, you can’t go wrong with an eagle feather earcuff, baby! Back then, only wussies used ropes. Here, i am about 20 feet off the deck up on Flagstaff Mountain near Boulder, Colorado.
