– Wholistic Fitness…
Where Sweat and Stillness Merge –
– Coach Ilg
One of the meanings of HaTha Yoga is “Union of the Right and the Left.”
if you fancy yourself a yogin, then do this:
become ambidextrous before you die.
There are those who consider themselves un-addicted
yet spend their entire lives addicted to using only one side of their bodies.
For example, a person may grow up as a ‘right handed’ child
and 30 years later find themselves still addicted to what in Western sport training
is called, “Lateral Dominance”…they have only deepened their addiction being ‘right-handed.”
the serial distortion and dis-ease that such addiction causes is beyond measure, yet i
have heard of no other yoga teacher or Western scientist speak of what seems to me to be a
glaring error in the way we manage our body/mind fitness.
man, why does feeble ilg got to think of EVERYTHING around here? 😉
seriously, however…
If you are addicted to using one side of your body, i can promise you this much:
you are as unskilled in thinking and feeling reality as are you as unskilled when
using your non-dominant side. think about that.
don’t want to be an ‘addict?’
want to find kinesthetic Balance in this lifetime?
want to Practice Yoga 24 hours a day? then start using your non-dominant sides.
if you are like most of my Students, you will find what they found and I found. doing so will cause you
to:
1)slow down (a lot)
and
2) become humbled by how stupid you’ve let yourself grow into one-sided dominance of body and mind.
this yogic realization of your fitness ignorance will cause you to either take two Paths:
1) become patient and devoted toward your Wholeness or
2) think that i am the most craziest teacher of yoga and fitness walking the planet and you will quit
trying to balance your side-to-side lateral kinesthesia.
don’t have time for Yoga today?
wrong.
do this:
develop your non-dominant skill coordination today and you will begin to See many new in-sights.
jao!
love,
your Crazy Wisdom Warrior Coach
