Dear Coach Ilg,
�Saw your DL today – i apologise profusely�if i caused any offence to anybody by posting the poem re your Mt Taylor adventure. The reason that i posted the poem was that i thought that it epitomized your combined spirit on that undertaking. i also apologise if anybody thought that i was trying to make out that it was somehow written by me – believe me i am not capable of anything remotely as good as that! To me it was irrelevant who the author is/was as it is the spirit of the poem that is so profound and relevant to your combined efforts. And finally if i have misquoted TE Lawrence i apologise, (but since reading the comments by Chris i have checked various encyclopedias and they all give the version that i sent – however i think that Chris’s version sounds better – and probably correct)!
