IF THE (climbing) SHOE FITS…
It’s pretty hard to find my size, especially this time of year. What do
you think about a shoe like the Scarpa Eclipse Climbing Shoe (pictured
below), or the 5.10 Spire?

GREAT CALL!
that is a fantastic all purpose shoe…they take a bit longer to get into than a slipper or a high performance, specialized shoe,
yet the benefits are many; you can boulder, sport climb, and multi pitch in such a shoe. since you are not an ‘expert’ climber, this shoe is ideal for you would not likely ‘outgrow’ this shoe.
i would suggest getting a pair that is RELATIVELY comfortable, since, unlike a high performance sport shoe,
you will not be able to tear it off quickly as your toes get smashed to smithereens! when it comes to experiencing toe pain,
rock climbing shoes and ballet ‘pointe’ shoes take the cake! in fact, i am just now breaking in a new pair of slippers and have probably just ruined my toe-spread benefits from the past 8 months from wearing YogaToes!
oh well!
in WF, we can’t limit the Unlimited by our own addictions to comfort!
yeah baby, go get that shoe and let me know how it goes. Best bet is to try on that same shoe
or similarly sized (be careful of the European vs. US sizing) at a local climbing shop before ordering online.
to be fair to the local climbing store, however, be sure to buy something…like a chalk bag or something at least!
