CHOPPING WOOD, SQUATTING CHI!
MORE YOGI SQUAT INPUT! Picture of Warrior Dad Jones, by Henry Jones (age 4).
Noble Coaches,
Winter is in the air here in the N. Cascades!
Chopping wood must be a WF approved discipline. Swinging the maul ax, teaching Henry safety and slaying a huge pile sure supplies some warrior chi and training effect!
I find the yogi squat feels so good. Whether I am on a long ride or chopping wood the opening and stretching encouraged during the yogi squat allows this feeble student with lower back learning opportunities to thankfully forge ahead with regenerating, strengthening and must do activities.
I Bow,
Warrior Student Steve Jones (of Haku Clan)
COACH RESPONDS;
“Noble Warrior Jones,
dig Henry’s “Rossignol” ski cap! you know, Henry is my first (legal) name too! just never stuck
right on with your Yogi Squat and i bow to the nice stash of wood,bro! dig your old-school Maul Axe!
THERE IS NO BETTER WORKOUT than Chopping Wood, Carrying Water, baby!
My preferred Active Meditation; Chopping Wood. The elegance of axe splitting, the blue collar of hauling wood,
the testosterone rush of just smashing up wood and smelling the sap, baby! Mountain Yoga! I grew up in Durango, where my dad pretty much made me haul, chop,and stack up to 11 cords of wood for the long winter…brutal, beautiful way to do chores baby! Today’s generation of video-playing punks have some FUNCTIONAL FITNESS to catch up on, i would say!
to Tribal Fitness, baby!
oh, and Ananda wants to know if she can borrow Henry for a few months…
love,
coach ilg
