BRINGING THE MIND HOME, STUDENT INPUT ON PODIUMS, and BRINGING CHI with TEACHER HAKU

“Isnt it extraordinary that our minds cannot stay still for longer than a few moments without grasping after distraction? They are so restless and preoccupied that sometimes I think that living in a city in the modern world, we are already like the tormented beings in the intermediate state after death, where the consciousness is said to be agonizingly restless.

We are fragmented into so many different aspects. We dont know who we really are, or what aspects of ourselves we should identify with or believe in. So many contradictory voices, dictates, and feelings fight for control over our inner lives that we find ourselves scattered everywhere, in all directions, leaving nobody at home.

Meditation, then, is bringing the mind home.”

Dear Teacher Haku,
Man, Ive been feeling the WF chi lately. I just feel really grounded and connected to the Tribal Flow, which has helped me feel like I havent really lost any ground in my practice. What a difference in feeling since last week, and I cant help but feel that you guys are helping me get my feet back under me.

HAKU:
Yes. When you have begun to dial into the empowering effect of your teachers training, of the tribes, then you are merging into a new sphere. There is a common-unity that is more than recognition of belonging; there is actual sharing of the chi, the pran that empowers your own performances, even physical.

STUDENT:
Im enjoying the Science of Breath book and particularly liked their point that practicing Breathing and Meditation is a workout for your pranic self. Kind of like how strength training gets the physical body fit. I hadnt really made that connection before, and it makes me want to run to my meditation room. It also puts heightened awareness on my breathing, which has calmed down and modulated. I kind of get breathing a little more now, so thank you for recommending this book.

HAKU:
Thank you for reading it and connecting deeper to us.
