Namaste Dear Teachers,
Love, love, love to you both! This is just a quick email to tell you about a race I ran last weekend. It is called Bay to Breakers and San Francisco is well known for this race! You may recognize it by seeing many dressed in funny and elaborate costumes as they walk the 12K distance pushing shopping carts with kegs in them. Well, needless to say I wasn’t pushing a keg, but was running my heart out, up with the front (okay, more like the middle) of the pack! I am pleased to say that I finished this race with a time of 1:20:52. Thats about a 10min 47 sec pace per mile. While this is not a typical “fast” time for many athletes, for me this is so amazing!! Just a year and a half ago I ran my first race, a 5K at an average time of 10min and 30 seconds per mile. Now I have more than doubled this distance and only minimally increased my average time. I think that is so cool!!
I also wanted to say thanks for the yoga reference. I am assuming the YMCA called you, Joy. I am going to be doing a certification program with them and will eventually be teaching there a bit. I’m excited to have the opportunity. I guess my HP based yoga class was a hit. Gotta love those chatarungas!
In light,
Heather
