3rd Place; 40-49 category
11th Overall (out of 70 runners)
unofficial 1st place Duathlon (coach rode his mountain bike to the Start)
“This one really hurt, i am really happy about this podium,” Coach said at the partying pandemonium of Pay n’ Take, the hip downtown Flag brewery which was, tonight, the site of the awards ceremony, “with only 5 running specific workouts under my belt, to come away with 2 podiums and a 7th place in the last three weekends of racing? Uh, you do the math on that one! (smiling). My quick switch from cycling racing into mountain trail racing so successfully simply speaks volumes for what WF has to offer those of us who, for reasons of injuries and/or time restraints, cannot – or perhaps do not wish to – train specifically for running. I relied on several WF and ancient yoga techniques to get onto this podium against this talented field of specific mountain runners. The final mile was brutal; a slugfest upon my hip and lower back joints. A lot of Sushumna Activation, for sure! Also, a whole lot of Trust in the WF Path and Faith in myself proved to be key. Oh, and thank Lord Buddha for SUNRIDER Herbs, PowerBar, and BioBuilde Amino Acids. It was not my running fitness that enabled me to get onto this podium; it was my nutritional and wholistic disciplines, that is for sure. I wish to thank Neil for his amazing efforts in producing this race and to all Race Volunteers who stood out there in the high woods for hours in the rain and snow. i bow. i am Blessed. it is my wish to see YOU on the Start Line next year!”
other WF Tribespeople who completed the race:
Shannon Money (Flagstaff)
Bob Morrissey (Flagstaff)
John Kuhlman (Las Vegas)
Details to come on yet another podium for Coach’s incredible string of victories in 2006!
