People and interviewers often ask me how i created Wholistic Fitness.

my response comes quickly, “I just Listened.”

energetically, i quickly feel their dissatisfaction with my answer swell in the silence that i am quite content to simply let emerge in the birthpangs of our conversation.

see, most of us reach a pivotal fork in the Path at a very early age in life. one fork is the one paved by the masses and hinges on the notion of being obliged to ‘find a appropriately wealthy vocation.’ the other fork – which is barely distinguishable to the common man because it is overgrown from not being travelled very often, is the Soul-Based Path. this is the Path of the Masters of Life.

most of us are not trusting of the Soul Based Path and so begin accommodating the anxiety of finding a vocation. our Grasping Mind -albeit just an infant – begins rummaging through an already stacked array of conflicted emotions, conditions, kleshas, vasanas, habituated patterns, lazy tendencies, and samskara that sadly becomes a lifelong murky lurch in the dark wasteland of our eogic sheath.

the rare breed of human who chooses the soul-based, less traveled Path learns only one Teaching at an early age; Just Listen. embracing this simple Teaching means committing entirely to it. through pain, injuries, death of loved ones, craziness in the world, all of it, all of it, all of it must remain the case to Be Listened. the technique of Listening arrives to us through a dazzlingly exquisite armada of spontaneously arising Dharma Teachers, Upa Gurus, ‘sixth sense hits,’ synchronicities, and other ‘om so ti’s’ along our EarthWalk.

just as an Ayurvedic doctor needs to see the WHOLISTIC scope of our symptoms before he or she prescribes a routine and medicine, the Practice of a WF Lifestyle brings up to our forefront our weaknesses and tendencies so that a sadhana (spiritual practice) can be form fitted into our vocation. until, of course, those two seemingly disparate journeys; our Outer World and our Inner World unite to become one. that is what the word Yoga means, remember; union. Union of mind and body at one level, and at a Higher Level; union of UniVersal Self and Individual Self.
