the call came in late…
“Steve! Oh my God! I am so glad i caught you…I didn’t get the message that you were in town until just now.”
I recognized the sweet, hurried voice. She was a bodywork client of mine from Century City. Personal manager of perhaps the most famous Las Vegas showperson of all time. “I totally need bodywork from you but i need to catch the redeye to Vegas tonight.”
“Tonight?”
“Yea, I am so sorry darling…please?”
“You know i’d have to double my fee to be fair to my other clients at this late notice?”
The silence from the other end of my cell implied, So what’s your point?
“Plus,” i pressed, “traveling time is also doubled.”
in LASpeak, the continued silence meant, Get to the point, can i be there tonight?
“How about if i get there by 9, hour and a half session?”
“Oh my God, you are suuuuuch a darling…i’ve been waiting for you to get back to town forever…how long are you here, i have some friends that want to see you too.”
“I gotta scoot on Sunday and i’m all filled. I’ll be back soon, though. See you tonight…same access at the Guardhouse as before?”
“Oh no…they changed it. i’ll ring down there and let them know you’re coming.“
“cool, see you tonight…namaste.”
“Namaste sweetie…”

that’s the way ilg rolls in LA. it’s a far, far cry from my quiet life beneath the Sacred Peak, 7,000′ higher than here.
fortunately, i’m a Geminic Yogi, so it is both my natural trait and my Practice to skillfully drop into different people, different paces, different environments as skillfully and quickly as possible. “Wherever you live, live cheerfully,” taught Swami Rama. i all-ways do my best to remember that when dropping into new situations.

though most of you have no idea about my bodywork/energywork,
my bodywork outpaced both my personal fitness and private yoga sessions by a landslide when i used to live here in LA. the Healing, direct touch from my pranically infused Practice spills into the forbidden kingdom of the stressed out muscles and tattered chi lines of these Big City People. they work hard, fast, and furious. their bodies are often very fit; they workout hard, fast, and furious. the quality of their muscles are often very good. it’s their connective tissues that tend to net the stress of their high-paced lifestyles. so that’s precisely where i start using my compressive tissue manipulations – either on a table or on the floor. when working with a bodywork client, i’ll spend up to 80% of the session with my eyes closed; reading an astral map of their gross, subtle, and refined sheaths. i allow the Work Itself to arise from the body beneath my fingertips, forearms, or sometimes, feet. the difference in having a bodyworker that meditates and has trained his finger and toe strength to rock climb 5.13 can be felt by my clients immediately. there is no comparison.
that’s why my Bodywork in LA outpaced my personal fitness and private yoga sessions. my clients can remain clients instead of ‘students’. they don’t need to sweat. they can get the Healing, get the Chi, and receive the Pranic Transmission directly through my work on them.
i make a lot a money doing Bodywork in LA.
unfortunately, that is not what my Teachers want me to do. it’s too easy for them and does not instill in my clients what matters most; Solo Practice and Higher Self-inspired sadhana.
so, i’ll exchange the money for a wind’s wild cry through my beloved Ponderosa as i once again head back to Flagstaff and leave this Chosen Place Of Angels behind yet again.
that’s not for another few days however and…
ooops, excuse, i’ve got another call coming in…
head bowed in versatile Dharma Service…
