please attend to WF Lifestyle Principle #1 – Conscious Breath and Posture before clicking the picture to enlarge. thank you.

As any Conscious Parent should, i’ve accepted my baby daughter as my Rinpoche.

As my New Daddy status grows, my previous lifestyle of traipsing off to record another plethora of wholistic fitness high country antics transmogrifies into a deepening my experience of ‘mundane reality’ around the Temple H(om)e.

My inner eye has long been tweaked and trained to extract what Thich Nhat Hanh calls, “the miracle of the moment,” and ordinary life has long been my subject matter of spirituality. Having the benefit of my live-in Rinpoche, however, i now find no need to seek hyperbole in order to praise the spirituality of the mundane.

Rinpoche Dewachen has blossomed my inner eye and heart with a new sense of proportion. The Practice is easy; see my world through Rinpoche Dewa’s eyes…see, feel, smell things as if for the first time. Beginners Mind, Zen Heart.

i captured this shot of Rinpoche Dewa two days ago as Kinlani (Native name for Flagstaff which means, ‘place where the thunder lie’) entered her Monsoon ‘ramp up’ phase, a most nirvana-ish time of year which includes daily, glorious visits of celestial, high-country thunderstorms.

recording my 9-month old Rinpoche’s experience of Her first Kinlani thunderstorm, i was struck like lightening with gratitude for my life-long spiritual practices for now,
instead of “America’s Outdoor Athlete” being chained to a more domesticated Sadhana, a fascinating calm abiding of Divine InSight graces my Awareness like raindrops merging into frolicking leaves of quaking aspens.

a Sacred Circle nears completion as my cells return to their former haunts of Beginner’s Mind; once a small boy with a wolf growing listening to the lichens and the march of ants now returns, gratefully, into that same Space/Place

May each of you today feel a barbell,
or a running shoe,
or the unfolding of a yoga mat
and
do so
and
feel so
as if
for the First Time.

Keep It Simple,
Keep It Sweaty,
Keep It Still.

endlessly,

your loving coach
