FIRST TRACKS, BABY!!!
got ’em yesterday up Agassiz Peak!

“The point is not how long you meditate; the point is whether the practice actually brings you to a certain state of mindfulness and presence, where you are a little open and able to connect with your heart essence. And five minutes of wakeful sitting practice is of far greater value than twenty minutes of dozing!”
– Sogyal Rinpoche

…and so is an hour-long power-churn up sketched conditions to the top of a Sacred Peak! Mountain Yogis know just how deeeep and potent a meditation is climbing a mountain…Hum SAH! Hum SAH! Hum SAH!!!!

it takes a uniquely idiotic type of Nordic Lunacy
to crank up 2,000 vertical feet of ankle-twisting babyheads, cinder chunks, and underbrush covered by only 6″ of snow just to nab the First TRACKS of the Ski Season up at the local Ski Area! i summitted in 59:29…sprinting at a 185 bpm heart rate in order to reach the top in less than an hour.
that’s 17 minutes slower from my Agazzi Uphill Ascent competition time last March; however, that was in groomed, impeccable conditions with MicroSpikes…yesterday was a slugfest of breaking trail through gnarly conditions…

sitting up there, all alone,
way above the world below…gasping with the Mountain Gods smiling around me???

absolutely priceless…it was sooo beautiful…i managed to snap a few phone pics for you…before commencing the treacherous descent in 23 minutes! Thank GOD for HP YOGA PROP Workouts; my ankles were immune to the chronic twisting and torque of high speed climbing and descending in snowshoes over such terrain…my Kahtoola Flight Deck System worked PERFECT in these marginal conditions yesterday…i wore the Flight Boot for the ascent and snapped into the Flight Deck for the crashing descent! Yeah baby!!!

i took this shot of Doko Oosliid yesterday from Agassiz Peak…here, one’s lungs breathe with the lungs of the UniVerse…

head bowed,
your mountain yogi
