“If we choose to live “on the grid” in America in any way, shape, or form,
we need not look very far at all to find that through our
actions, we say ‘yes’ to innumerable things that, philosophically,
we may oppose. Just wearing clothes, having a bank account, owning a car or house,
using a plastic toothbrush, climbing a mountain, going skiing, riding a bicycle…all of these seemingly ‘non violent’ things are seeped with animal cruelty,
human rights violations, etc. which contributes incalculable violence
to the UniVerse…yet, with firm understanding of the Gunic Qualities of life,
we realize the importance of staying fit, conscious, and
as inwardly turned as possible to help all Beings on all planes.”

photo by Ananda. think fishing is ‘violent’? i dare you to do an impact study
on virtually ANYTHING you step into, onto or put on your skin, into your body…
in a society where most kids and adults have zero appreciation for where their
McDonalds “Fillet of Fish” (do they still make those?) or their Big Mac comes from,
it’s poignant yoga to actually use your own skills to hunt and gather before you eat.
doing so is a superb yoga of nutrition and inter-connectedness. this is a big Northern Pike i tied into while trout fishing at local Ashurst Lake.
