mala

my personal Mala’s dangle beneath the Sacred Sandia Peak under which my dad died 15 days ago…his Atman still has several intense “wrathful realms” to navigate..my personal Bardo Meditations/Prayers/Navigations are now averaging over 1 hour – formally – per day.  it’s what all go(o)d sons must do for their Fathers…at least in my view…

Joining my Dad in the below devotion is Debbie M’s parents…her mother just got killed by a 16 year-old illegal immigrant while her dad was driving the car..her dad is in Serious condition…Deb, on behalf of my Sangha,  we pray for your capacity to weather this High Teaching of Impermanence (see below).  say the Word, and i’ll begin Bardo Meditations for your Precious Mother…

The Bardo is a busy place…let me tell you…i also wish to dedicate the following Rinpoche Sogyal Teaching to all the woodland and sky and two-legged creatures that are suffering and dying in my Beloved Land of Enchantment turned Land of Encharment:  New Mexico…even my precious Jemez Zen Center is now in the course of the engulfing inferno…may my own Daughter be able to see at least a few acres of the Southwest uncharred in her lifetime…

i would like you all to read the following Teaching Three Times;

Reflect on this: The realization of impermanence is paradoxically the only thing we can hold on to, perhaps our only lasting possession. It is like the sky, or the earth. No matter how much everything around us may change or collapse, they endure.

Say we go through a shattering emotional crisis . . . our whole life seems to be disintegrating . . . our husband or wife suddenly leaves us without warning. The earth is still there; the sky is still there. Of course, even the earth trembles now and again, just to remind us that we cannot take anything for granted. . . .
