To work with changes now, in life: That is the real way to prepare for death. Life may be full of pain, suffering, and difficulty, but all of these are opportunities handed to us to help us move toward an emotional acceptance of death. It is only when we believe things to be permanent that we shut off the possibility of learning from change.

photo:  that is my Dad, myself, and my older sister, Connie in 1961.  i was one year-old.  this weekend i am hosting the Memorial Service for my father who died of a massive heart attack at age 79.  death comes as fast as lightning in monsoon season…make sure you have a well-experienced Dharma Teacher to help you deal with the fitness required to do what it takes after you cannot take another inhale…
