ilg…contemplating life  on the Continental Divide at 12,000’+ before dropping into a Double-Black Diamond tele descent at Wolf Creek Ski Area last year…leave to billionaire Red McCombs?  and this place would be just hovering above a huge ‘city’ he plans to build at 10,500′ on wilderness which gave spiritual birth to Wholistic Fitness® 35 years ago….

The following is a letter i wrote today to the various Authorities and Media to voice my enthusiastic dis-embrace of Red McCombs plan to build a Vail-Telluride-like resort “Village” of over 10,000 people (who only spend a few weeks in their trophy homes) at my lifelong love:   Wolf Creek Pass Ski Area.

“As a native of beautiful southwest Colorado, I find it incredulous that Red McCombs continues to bulldoze his endless bank account through his pet travesty project; to build an overwhelmingly ridiculous “Village” upon such high, fragile, rarified terrain.

Wolf Creek has been a sacred playground of mine my whole life…now her trees are dead or dying and this absurd notion of creating a metropolis upon her decaying slopes must be stopped once and for all.

Head bowed,

Spirit vowed…

It’s really scary to me that there are people who think this sort of thing is a good idea.

    Thanks for “roaring” the wisdom.
Wolf Creek has been a spiritual-haven for myself as a kid.
i see a huge-entry sign with the words BJ when you approach from the south, probably someone’s ranch.
would not want to see anymore such “littering” in the area….. sorry.
