To Fall In Love With Yoga
“The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.”
- zen saying
To Fall In Love With Yoga means learning to enjoy the intimate mystery of overcoming our weaknesses by doggedly forcing ourselves to concentrate on the peeling away of our superficiality and imbalances.
To Fall In Love With Yoga means learning to fall in love with the globules of gunk – all Fear Based – which we have been carrying around within us for longer than all of us may wish to admit.
To Fall In Love With Yoga means learning to court the Gunk, seduce the Gunk, and yes, even make Love with that Gunk until, like a dysfunctional Lover, she leaves us.
To Fall In Love With Yoga means developing the discipline of inSight by looking into our challenges and persevering through the myriad globs of resistance, anger, guilt, and the rest of the Fear-Based Gunk.
To Fall In Love With Yoga means recognizing our Root Dharma Teachers, committing to Their Teachings, and allWays honoring our Stance upon their Shoulders with Joyful Breath and utter humility.
To Fall In Love With Yoga has little to do with anything except being True with “What Currently Is,” which is
another way of simply saying, To Fall In Love With Yoga means tapping into the Flow of where our Consciousness pivots moment to moment.
To Fall In Love With Yoga means Stepping Up To The Plate morning after early morning, doing the inner workouts in the wee hours before getting on with our Outer Worldly affairs among the Common Man.
To Fall In Love With Yoga means, to me, creating a clever spiritual Path called Wholistic Fitness® and trying my hardest to do well in a variety of sports, life challenges, and ways of living in order to lure you into feeling and living for yourself what Falling In Love With Yoga is like.
May your Practice Be Sacred,

EC, Thank you, for your posting. Perhaps, I am being snarky here – but much of what passes for yoga these days unsettles me, Maybe it is because I came out of a strict lineage of Rinzai Zen practice. Often I hear the roshi’s words in my dharma eye – this waking up thing is work – not a warm and fuzzy blanket to protect your ego and tell you what a great person you are. I think that the “real” practice should shake us up and assist us in seeing ourselves, not as perfect , but works in progress as we move through this human life. I weary sometimes of the feel-good teachings that are like dharmic sound bites that aren’t attached to anything at all they just sound good. Ok, I am going to stop now before I put my whole foot into my mouth. LH
MOST PRECIOUS LH!!!!
(ilg will meet your Snark and raise you):
SEEE!!!
DAT’s WHY ILG LOVES LH SOOOOOO MUCH over all these lifetimes!!1
you GO girl!
you TALK that DharmaSmack!!! cuz, right now, there are hundreds of thousands of people stealing money from Dharma Seekers and just pampering them with pillows of dharma fluff, afraid to deeply press their ‘students’ (more like ‘clients’) to that Radical Edge of True Transformation which pivots upon Sweat, Fear, and Trepidation… thankfully, you, like ilg, have enough hip flexibility to consistently put our foot in our mouths without worry!
love you,
keep charging Higher, full throttle!
head bowed,
spirit vowed,
ec
Thanks Ilg. I flipped through this months Yoga Journal just to be sure I wasn’t full of hot air… all full page ads were for huge multinational corporations. Cover story;paddle board yoga; how to “look” sunkissed after your paddle board yoga I presume; back cover; pole dancing/yoga; farm yoga; food looked good I guess; a little spread on four-limbed staff pose; a ex-Hari Krishna making up his own version of kirtan and the ads for next years four yoga Journal conference next to the shoe ad and Jai Uttai hawking Jade yoga mats ( the ones that cost 70 dollars oh and lest I forget a full page ad for Milk Bones.
Love you EC. LH
