GLIMPSES OF THE INNER WORLD,
by WF Master Student Abu
“I experience only glimpses of the Inner World. There is much work to be done.
It is easy to observe greatness in you and the other WF athletes – podiums and summits
attained – all with unbelievable ability. Particularly, the ability to suspend
the intellect and jump into Intensity. I wrestle with my gorilla intellect
constantly. The only time that I jump into Intensity is during Pranayama.
Even then, the jump happens with a great respect – the abyss is near. In my
sports performance the gorilla has me pinned. I TAF that when I throw him out
of the ring, performance – on the rock, ice, and bike – will soar, but it is
sooooo slow.
“It’s a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don’t quit when you’re tired; you
quit when the gorilla is tired.”
-Robert Strauss
In reading through my beautiful Student Abu’s insights above,
the thought arrived on a sigh,
Some of my Largest Fears only become dislodged from my Egoic Mountain (which is bigger and more formidable than Mt. Denali)
when i stay consistent with my Early Morning Meditation Practices. These huge boulder like Fears that i
have dislodged through my abhyasa (defined in yesterday’s DL) always seem to roll RIGHT IN FRONT
OF MY ROAD HIGHER! why must such old, heavy Fears keep rolling into and blocking my way toward Freedom?
oh yeah,
guess i forgot…
we need to clear out the CRAP
before the LIGHT can shine!
May your Practice be strong like mountain,
flexible like cloud wrapped trees,
and as expansive as a Mohave heat wave…
