Coach’s Training Stats For October=ABHYASA IN BLACK & WHITE
October meant shifting gears was again for me; after a controversial “5th Place” in the Arizona State Road Racing Championships, I am focusing on the Nordic Championships…I wanna see if any of those four skinny-armed guys that “beat me” (‘cheaters!’) on the road bike at the State Championships can make their arms as strong as their legs this winter! In Wholistic Fitness, we don’t just settle for being go(o)d as we can be in ONE physiologic discipline..that ain’t what yoga, that ain’t what Balance is about! Fitness Specificity, be it in yoga postures or endurance or in strength, means little to the WF Warrior! What matters is Fitness Versatility! Such physiologic mastery is chronically humbling: We always remain less experienced in our various endeavors than those that are addicts to their sport and perhaps scared to venture outside their cherished comfort and strength zones. To WF Warriors, we attempt to Dance ALL The Capacities of Being a FULL Human Being! Photo by Ananda of myself inline Skate Skiing near the Temple H(om)e. i know all too well that, “You never get a second chance at your Pre-Season. In nordic skiing and snowshoe racing, the PreSeason begins in September and October!”

Abhyasa; Constancy Of Practice.
One of two essential components in the life of a yogin. The other is vairagya (dispassion). In WF, i created and teach a multi-disciplined approach to fitness and life choices which integrates both abhyasa and vairagya as the very infrastructure of the Path. For instance, in the WF Path, we don’t just do one form of fitness or sport or lifestyle; we remain open, versatile, and Balanced among the Dance of all physiology, psychology, and lifestyle choices. Then, we use Daily Sweat and Stillness to integrate our Abhyasa.”

“Constant practice alone is the secret of success. Verily, there is no doubt of this.”
– Hatha Yoga Pradipika, chapter 1, verses 64-6
“In DL, you can read the tidbits of Wholistic Fitness lives and teachings. However, to know where the Spirit behind the Scripture lies, you need only look to the recorded sweat. These monthly glimpses into the constancy of my actual Practice statistics gives the newcomer to WF a feel for the solidarity of my Message…my footprints have been clear since 1976 in daily training statistics.”
