My Face

Noble Coach:
About ten years ago the left side of my face froze — Bell’s palsy. This was during my third year of law school, after my wife got pregnant. I can still feel a little tenderness in one of my nerves if I press the right spot under my left cheekbone.

Anyway, I’ve been noticing that I tense up that side of my face when I am going hard on the bike. At Tuesday’s practice crit I was consciously trying to relax my face. Not sure what to make of it.

Also, this morning while I was lying flat on my back in bed, I was noticing that my left breatbone appears to be a little higher than the right. Could this have something to do with the fact that ida is generally clearer than pingala, as manifested in my often blocked right nostril?

Shishya F

Most Noble Shishya F,

i bow unto Thee.

your Yoga is really starting to mature.
inDeed, your constancy of Early Morning Ritual, especially the Pranayama, is beginning to show you where Ida (left side/female/cold) and Pingala (right side/male/heat) have been chronically ‘kinked’ due to Lateral Dominancy and UnConscious living:

“I urge you not to throw away time, for it’s as swift as an arrow, fast as a stream. Distraction is entirely due to a lack of concentration; stupidity and blindness are caused by a lack of true knowledge.”
– Yung-Ming

you are beginning to See and Feel things about yourSelf
like never before.

i want you to keep cultivating this deep questioning.
keep bringing Awareness without too much time spent trying to ‘fix it.’
nothing needs fixing.
just bringing Awareness is always enough to bring Transformation.

keep peeling away the Layers until your Deepest Shine starts gathering more and more m(om)entum.

om so ti,
ec
