with an 8-degree temperature reading outside the WF Temple H(om)e, our “3-Chi Deer Clan”
punched their hooves through an ice sheet on our (soon-to-be) hockey pond to get water. i took this photo this morning as they made their way across our backyard; Daddy Deer, Momma Deer, and Baby Deer.

According to Jamie Sams, author of Medicine Cards, the Medicine of Deer is: Gentleness. I’ve used Jamie’s book and deck since i can’t remember when. It was particularly centering for me during the ten years i lived in LA, far away from the mountains and mesas of the southwest…

“If Deer has gently nudged its way into your cards today, you are being asked to find the gentleness of spirit that heals all wounds. Stop pushing so hard to get others to change, and love them as they are. Apply gentleness to your present situation and become like the summer breeze: warm and caring. This is your tool for solving the present dilemma you are facing. if you use it you will connect with Sacred Mountain, your centering place of serenity, and Great Spirit will guide you.”

Let there be soft words upon your lips today,
and
don’t be afraid of the tears from your pain of Awakening…

it’s all go(o)d…very, very go(o)d…

no matter how steep and difficult the terrain…

come, live in peace
and let your Daily Sweat and Stillness
teach you to Be…

i bow to your Devotion to our humble, powerful Path,

the mountain yogi
