Author/Extreme Athlete Steve Ilg Opens New High Performance Yoga Studio
Tarzana, CA – November 17, 2003 – Steve Ilg�s HIGH PERFORMANCE YOGA has opened at its new location featuring body/mind fitness training in Tarzana.
�The physical and spiritual environment at my new studio has been meticulously designed to produce a world-class yoga experience safe and versatile enough for beginners seeking a healthier, more balanced way of life to the most dedicated yogi or athlete seeking a higher level to their performance and their physique,� says studio owner, Steve Ilg. Exclusive to the studio are Steve�s trademark classes, �HP Prop Workouts��, �Straight Up Zen��, �YoZenGa�� and HP Strong, Slow, and Easy Flow� classes. Workshops, classes, and a special weekly class, �YogaNation�� complete the varied schedule for the new studio which additionally offers a line of High Performance Yoga clothing, Steve�s books and videos, special yoga products, and SUNRIDER herbs/skin care. �We are devoted to helping others in the struggle for awareness while keeping a trajectory toward Enlightenment. Our primary mission however, is to provide our students an occasion to pause, heal, explore, be challenged, and feel nourished in a sacred way,� explains Steve.
Steve Ilg helped popularize extreme sports through his books and high mountain exploits throughout the eighties and nineties. Steve used traditional yoga techniques with Western sport physiology principles to overcome severe spinal injury to compete in five World Championships in four different outdoor sports. His latest book, TOTAL BODY TRANSFORMATION (Hyperion) will be released January, 2004. A Registered Yoga Teacher with the International Yoga Alliance with senior teaching status, Steve is also a certified personal trainer and an expert coach with the United States Cycling Federation. Steve began teaching students in 1982 out of Boulder, Colorado and now heads an international online student base.
