To practice death is to practice freedom. A man who has learned how to die has unlearned how to be a slave. – MONTAIGNE.

Most Precious Sangha,
so, i did my best to Gift you all a wonderful, life-enhancing new Yoga-Asana Program (New Year Flow…which will remain in the Teachings as well as in the Yoga chamber of the WF SanghaLounge for your reference) which we will eventually turn into both an audio and video.
at this time of the year, it is also Temple Tradition to review and i would like each of you to recite 3x, 7x, or 21x depending upon your willingness and temperament, this Teaching from Sogyal Rinpoche. i’ve long felt it odd that my Offering to the Outer World was born from and remains inspired from world-class fun and focus in fitness…yet, how much of my professional time is spent as a Rever-End, performing Bardo-related meditations and prayers in my Zendo for so many dying and ill warriors across this beautiful plane(t).
Here then, is our Grounding Teaching for the New Year…have a TON of fun in your celebrations of what was truly an amazing year and for the new one ahead..

“Men come and they go and they trot and they dance, and never a word about death. All well and good. Yet when death does come—to them, their wives, their children, their friends—catching them unawares and unprepared, then what storms of passion overwhelm them, what cries, what fury, what despair! . . .
To begin depriving death of its greatest advantage over us, let us adopt a way clean contrary to that common one; let us deprive death of its strangeness, let us frequent it, let us get used to it; let us have nothing more often in mind than death. . . . We do not know where death awaits us: so let us wait for it everywhere.”
Dear Steve, Thankyou for sending these powerful words. OHHHHH so true. i am at seven on my way to twentyone. Love to all. Happy New Year, Kendo
“When anything seems to you to be a source of fear, when any situation strikes you with terror and makes your body tremble and the cold sweat of fear comes over it, remember it is always for one reason; the ego has pereceived it as a symbol of fear, a sign of fear, a sign of sin and death.” – – –
“Give it to Him to judge for you, and say:
Take this from me and look upon it, judging it for me.
Let me not see it as a sign of sin and death, nor use it for destruction.
Teach me how not to make of it an obstacle to peace, but let You use it for me, to facilitate its coming.”
