Dear Teacher –

sending my Chi for your booksigning. wish i could be there to hang with you. what would it take to get you out here for an appearance? would love to create something out here, perhaps this fall/winter.

since the death of my road bike a few years ago, i’ve relied on my trusty MTB (an old Paramount) for both road and off road rides. last night i was planning to cardio commute (a la TOTAL BODY TRANSFORMATION) to the yoga studio (13 miles each way). got out the door behind schedule. told Jody, “this will be a test of my WF/HP fitness, i gotta crank.” tapped into Mula Bandha* and rode from there. holy shit! shaved 8 minutes off my best time. only thing i’ve really changed in my practice recently is the bump up in pranayama (yogic breathing Practices). total Yoga on/with the bike. pratyahara… wu wei. “i” wasn’t there, “i” watched myself rippin it in my best aero tuck. crazy shit. at one point, i heard myself saying aloud “pull up and out” (refering to Mula, i believe). arrived at the studio feeling like i’d only been on the bike a couple minutes. took the Chi with me to teach Strong Flow.

also! i’ve been waiting for the name of my MTB to arise for a couple years. finally came to me yesterday near the end of my ride, it’s “ILG”. how bout that? if you knew my “ILG” you too would know why the name is Perfect:)

Giving the Love,

ko

{Editors Note: Mula Banda or “the root lock” is a Hatha Yoga internal lock of the urogenital muscles and is used in a variety of Practices to recognize, develop, and transcend the Life Force within the body. If allowed to remain undeveloped, Mula Bandha weakness is what allows the regenerative Life Force to escape through the root of the pelvis causing aging and dis-ease, and lack of spiritual verve.}
