Coach,

I heard this story on NPR on Tuesday and thought you’d find the guy fascinating (as I did). Here’s the blurb:

Mountain guide Ulrich Inderbinen of Zermatt, Switzerland, died last night at the age of 103. He was legendary in Switzerland where he led climbers up the Matterhorn and other mountains until his mid-’90s. NPR’s Melissa Block talks with Hermann Biner, a close friend of Inderbinen’s, and also a mountain guide. He describes Inderbinen’s life and his death.

The guy never (NEVER!) owned a car, a bicycle or a phone. Oh, I was soooo jealous when I heard the story. Anyway, here’s the page on NPR’s site:

The story, with an audio link, is down near the bottom.

Hope all is well in La La Land.

Best,

Luke and Spooner
