Twas The Night Before The First Winter’s Storm…when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a snow-covered garden mouse…
The Bike Beings were hung in the garage with care
in a priority that even our cars do not dare…
Outside, our Element was nestled all snug in her bed,
with wipers upturned for a snowfall i would not dread.
And our snowshoes on their hangers, and i with a brew in my lap,
Had just settled my vision for a long winter’s snowcap…
When there in my garage arose such a matter,
spilling my brew attending to a bike with tires the fatter…
i threw off the old knobbies in a flash,
replacing them with studded ones (as if i was Johnny Cash)…
I then gazed at my re-furbished sleigh, and gave a bit of a whistle,
inward my Spirit flew with the force of a missile…
And out on my lawn, ‘ere I rode my bike out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and let’s have a snow of majestic might!”
– with 10,000 x 10,000 bows of apologies to Clement Clarke Moore (1779 – 1863)
let’s see…..
7 war-ponies total?
