Coach,

Head bowed, right hand over heart, I say to you�”Salaam”(peace). That is a greeting from Afghanistan.

As you may remember�I am deployed�here as part of US Marine Detachment to train the Afghan National Army, in an effort to rebuild Afghanistan. As part of our efforts, on a weekly basis, we Marines volunteer to go to a refugee camp and an orphange. We go with a�medical staff from a US Army base.�Since our�medical knowledge is minimal we spend most of our time handing out treats,�repairing shoes, and playing with kids. Needless to say it provides�heartwarming balance to the grim reality of our actuall mission here. I wish to offer all WF Warriors an opportunity to participate in our rebuilding efforts. I am providing my mailing address�as an opportunity to send items, which I will deliver to the orphange and refugee camp. Nothing needs to be brand new.�Shoe Goo and Duct tape�work wonders for repairing their�shoes and shelters. If you wish to enclose pictures or letters for the Afghanies�please do, I make sure�they are aware�the gifts are from people of the United States.

upon hearing of the Baking Soda incident, WF Teacher Roche (shown above in meditation at his recent St. John’s Yoga Retreat) wrote in:

“Baking Soda during NETI! great idea!� believe i try this tomorrow morning:

1) fill neti pot with vinegar

2) add heaping teaspoon of baking soda

3) fill pingala side nostril with the mixture

4) pinch off both nostrils

5) shake head vigorously

6) assume ardo mukha svanasana

7) hold until sahasrara chakra explodes open
