WHY YOU MUST BECOME SUPPLE THROUGH ASANA (Yoga Postures) BEFORE TRYING TO SIT IN MEDITATION:

“If you are sitting, and your mind is not wholly in tune with your bodyif you are, for instance, anxious or preoccupied with somethingyour body will experience physical discomfort, and difficulties will arise more easily. Whereas if your mind is in a calm, inspired state, it will influence your whole posture, and you can sit much more naturally and effortlessly. So it is very important to unite the posture of your body and the confidence that arises from your realization of the nature of your mind.”

– Sogyal Rinpoche

“My time is your time for the next 3 months to try to set this stage. I consider this work a life priority.”

– Student Stillness

Many read the Yoga Sutras trying to understand the text. They

forget that they are reading to understand the Self. I realized that I had

been approaching The Gita from the wrong perspective.

Good luck at Mt. Taylor. It’s inspiring to see “old guys” like you three still kicking ass :)

I’m hoping to visit LA in March, perhaps we can hook up?

DL today was a big wake-up call. There are issues of

boundaries, discipline, and self-honesty that rose to

the surface. Everything is on the table for me; I am

sorting it out with the steady Wisdom gained from WF

Practice.

Thanks for listening yet again,

there were many words,

and thanks for sharing the Sparkplugs of

Transformation.

Q & A on COMPASSION and GRIEF

Noble Coach Ilg,

Glued to DL as always.

Your reminder for compassion and non-judgment hit me

like a rock and started an avalanche–into sister

suffering.

Now I am exploring the BIG truths embedded in this

question:

What happens when compassion becomes grief?

Love,

Your ever-learning student DS

Noble Student DS –

like oil and water, compassion and grief shall never truly meet once the Veil is lifted. Why? Because Compassion is love-based. Grief is fear-based.

Your Devoted Practice fills my heart with joy and love,

Coaches Ilg and Ananda –

Yesterday was almost like being in California. Skate skiing in the morning and then a cruise on the roads on my

mountain bike. I am ordering a Cycle-Cross bike for early season road riding and then will do some trail riding and

running over the technical spots with it.

Enjoyed, as usual, this mornings Direct Lines.

You give me so much to think about.

Agni Sara Hint:

Noble Ones –

exhale,

do a Mock Inhalation

then with the stomach area hollowed,

begin the ‘yanking’ movement of the ‘pooch’ in and out rapidly

while visualizing ‘swishing’ stomach acids to cleanse by way of fire

which is what Agni Sara is all about.

go for the FEEL of a new technique as soon as possible…since trying

to write about this highly subtle and often Intuitive Work of pranayama and internal locks

is quite difficult and we are only feeble teachers.

that is all,

coach ilg
