MT. TAYLOR RACE UPDATE: Ananda LIVE in the field here in Grants,NM
our team, Mountain Yogis #659, took off at the front of the pack looking full of the Chi this morning.
Richard Verderame lead the charge at 10am in the Bike segment of the Quad.
By now, we are visulazing he has passed the baton, really a micro chip on a velcro anklet, to
Teacher Haku. Haku relaxed and ready ( i mean, he is half Siberian Husky according to his wife
Linda and son, Kerry) to put the hurt on the rest of the running pack. Coach Ilg had to leave by 7am this
cold and rainy morning on a bus up the Sacred Turquoise Mtn. (Mt. Taylor). He is now braving the Tempest
as he awaits Teacher Haku’s swift arrival so he can carry the WF Spirit up the Ski & Snowshoe portion
of the race. Just do the math, Warriors…it’s not just about the race its self. It’s about the Bardo space in
between. The time each Team member has to “wait” while the other Team player does their specific event.
Much easier i TAF (think and feel) as a spectator to do the whole Quadrathlon my yourself. As a team, many
more dynamics come into play. i bow, regardless, however, to ALL the quadratholon racers. And to all the Volunteers
who help organize and assist in varied ways, Thank You.
