Namaste Noble Warriors –

still on my mountain yogi personal retreat

deepening my austerities

revisiting Rocky Mountain haunts

whereupon the Wholistic Fitness and

High Performance Yoga

chi

began

and was nurtured

and now blossoms

in each of you

whose devoted WF workouts and HP Yoga Practice

remains strong and sincere.

through my high altitude austerities

the fragile beauty of Self

arises

suddenly

but changes like the colors of a New Mexico sunset

each breath in meditation

devoted to ego-erasure

changing, dissolving, dying…

ethereal residue imprints my soul’s effort

to linger with the Divine

and the pain of surrender

Ishvara pranidhana

is achingly intense

growth demands pain

invisible raindrops shatter shallow water

a mesa stock pond’s contribution to ripples everywhere

whittled barbed-wire fences sprouts creation;

sagebrush and gramma grasses in parched profusion

seem to look skyward

as platters of cirrus scrape the dry sky

here i am h(om)e

so easy to say forget it to the big city

stay here in my cave

my ego begins to outchirp

the nuthatches

signaling me it’s time to

regain padmasana

continue

looking within

but my Practice is feeble

and my lower mind searches

to find one sliver of evidence

proof so i can stay here away from folks of thunder

addicts of entertainment

charlatans of egoic disguise

these pinyons and ravens

do not deceive

the quiet of their air

seems inconceivable

so i sit

like fossilized stone

listen to the roar of my blood

the song of my stilling

ever stilling

breath

relaxed into the gentle throb of Higher mind

waiting without waiting

for Atman’s Awakening…

be true to yourself, Noble Fitness Warriors

i breathe up here

for all of us

who choose to swim upstream

i’ll be back in LA on Sunday…

to work on hollowing out

our new urban cave

to mimic this one

so we can all Practice

in an environment like this…

one

without

qualm

only

presence

of

self and truth.

i bow to you,

coach ilg
