“Whatever harm an enemy may do to an enemy, or a hater to a hater, an ill-directed mind inflicts on oneself greater harm.”
– Dhammapada 42

Meet Sammy…Sammy the Skunk. he is Two Tree Manor’s resident Reputation Keeper. Having no known natural enemies, Skunk carries a big medicine bundle including, Reputation, Sensuality, Respect, and Self-Esteem. Like Snake, Skunk is an unmatched Teacher of how to give respect, expect respect, and…well, demand respect. Skunk shirks away from no animal; four-legged, two-legged, or winged. Skunk journeys through Life at his own peaceful, fearless pace. Do you? Have you ever? To spend even one day in the Fearless Realm of Skunk would feel like magic, wouldn’t it. Why do you not love Skunk? Why do you insist on ignoring so many Powerful, Beautiful Teachers on Plane(t) Earth?

Those of us who have been sprayed by Skunk realize their impeccable Art of War; first, Skunk will stomp his feet as if to say, “Dude,…dude, i PROMISE you…you do NOT want to F$#k with me…go away and leave me alone.”

If that doesn’t work, then Skunk will proceed to Step Two: he will raise his exquisite tail, exposing the gland which contains his knockout spray. If you are still enough of an idiot to pester Skunk at this point? Well, he’ll simply look over his shoulder at you, and well, it’s too late by then. You, your entire area, pets, and whatever are gonna get blasted by a numbing chemical spray at a velocity that is accurate at 15 feet. Hope you have some Tomato juice nearby.

A known carrier of rabies, you best mind your p’s and q’s if you choose to live in Skunkdom.

Sammy is a striped Skunk. The stripe is an outward manifestation of Sushumna; the main conduit of Kundalini of which i have Taught you much about in these DL’s. Skunk teaches us the judiciousness with which we must use our eventual control over the potent, cosmic energies within the spine which we work so hard at developing through our Pranayama, asana, spiritually conscious exercise, and meditation. Remember what i have Taught you in TBT and here in DL: the Yamas and NiYamas are taught first in the Yoga system because without moral and ethical integrity, the aspirant will never be Blessed with the Siddhi’s (yogic powers) for abuse of such powers would surely follow. So, be good, do good, and if your Practices stay strong and sincere; like Skunk…you will be treated with Respect in all Realms.

Usually a nocturnal feeder, Sammy has been lingering his patrols into the early mornings because of the amount of snow and cold that has forced from him an overwhelming hunger of a magnitude of which you and i have forgotten.

ilg wonders why the phrase, “Getting skunk’d,” came from Skunk.

What do you TAF?

feeble ilg bows to Beautiful Skunk. Thank you, Sammy, for gracing my inner life with your ongoing Teachings.

for the rest of you?

let’s keep working with the only two words that exist in the WF Bible:

“Just Listen.”

Om Mani Padme Hung,

coach ilg
