it’s 5:18 am, this morning.

four Wapiti prowl among pre-dawn light among the grasses of “Buddha Hill” behind the WF Temple H(om)e. My statue of Gautama Himself, momentarily trapped between the legs of a spring-born Elk child.

i stall my steps out the door for my Early Morning Ritual walking meditation; content to leave my jaw dropped in awe at these Elk Beings – two children and two adults – and content to leave them to their own santosha. i find myself mouthing a Tibetan Protection Mantra; asking that no arrows nor bullets pierce the hide of these magnificent, majestic Beings. already, hunters have arrived in ‘my’ woods – bow season begins several months of killing field days.

even those of us who have Felt the Wisdom of non-killing within our cells instead of within Scripture,
even those of us who understand the Koyaanisqatsi plaguing Mother Earth and realize that without wolves, without mountain lions, these Elk Beings are populating too much, we still don’t wish for them to be murdered by far less fit beings than themselves. sures, we understand that young Aspen tree saplings are unable to grow; the Elk Beings eat them during long cold winters – thwarting regeneration of the dying Aspen forests from which Humans like myself, like John Denver, like perhaps you…have provided so much Sacred Joy.

still, especially as a Conscious Warrior Parent, when it comes to killing, some of us have just had enough. we understand that just living ‘on the grid’ contributes so much indirect killing that we no longer have wishes to do more killing. we pull GrandDaddy Spiders out of the tub, placing them gingerly on the front stoop, encouraging their return to their own world. our Heart Center smiles as we watch them crawl away upon those legs which in their own way are as magnificent, as majestic as the Elk Beings ghost-like movements through tall timber. you’ve read my tormented meditations about fishing, you’ve studied my Nutritional Guidelines in my books…there are few easy answers along a Path of Awakened Action.

Karma

ilg has seen many Sacred Terms become beaten, abused, and over-used to the point of pointlessness as the “new age” has turned “yogic.” one of the most abused term is Karma:

Listen to it:
Karma is an impression upon the mindstream from intentioned action which inevitably ripens into an effect.

the aspirant should never forget the wordage; ‘intentioned action’…Intent is everything.

really important is the other word, Action. Action means more than physical; it means Thought, Word, and Physical Action.

again; really get behind it now:
Karma is an impression upon the mindstream from intentioned action which inevitably ripens into an effect.

now listen:
once the cause has been created, there MUST be an effect.

do a negative action; a negative effect results.
do a positive action; a positive effect results.

a pinyon seed bears a pinyon, always.
i’ve lived in the Southwest most of my life. ilg has never seen a pinyon tree bear oranges.
simarlily,
any and every negative intentional thought, word, or action bears a negative effect later in this life or in the afterlife.

that last sentence spurred the creation of my meditation CD whose title has now become another one of those WF Maxims:

My Workout Is Everywhere
perhaps re-integrating this Meditation CD of mine into your own sadhana is worth it?

now comes the Saving Grace and our Workout Which Is Everywhere:
if we don’t create the cause we can’t experience result.
if we boil a Calli Tea bag, we have to have Calli Tea.

TOMORROW in DL – There Are Only 3 Ways As To Why Things Happen.

for now,
i want your spirit to suckle upon today’s Teaching…
walk with these words
along your Rainbow Road
and
do
no
harm.

head bowed,
