Noble Sangha,

i can’t tell you how many letters and questions like this one come across my days.  figuring it might be worthwhile for all of us to reVisit that timid, shy, scared place that many of us had to deal with before we were brave enough to take our first yoga class – especially ‘in front of others, where everybody can see how weak and stiff i am!’ Fortunately,  my daughter – along with a growing number of chi-ldren – will never have to feel like that.  Such is the great Blessing of having one or both parents as yogis. The scriptures say that if we work hard on ourselves in this lifetime, our journey through the Bardo will be quick, happy, and we shall re-incarnate into a family where both parents practice Yoga…

Blessed be thy Practice,

coach ilg

Steve;
I have never tried yoga, so how hard is it, what kind of shape do you need to be in and do you offer classes for  beginners ?

Coach; all Levels are welcome;  the Hub is cool because it’s filled with endurance athletes…us endurance athletes are often very tight beings, so my style always prioritizes joint health/stability as the foundation for creating suppleness and functional fitness.  i always give option poses.  Wednesday is a great, utterly unique asana-based strength-fitness type of class called, “HP PROP WORKOUTS” and are less
traditional yoga than my monday class…both are really fun and effective.  easier classes at the beginning of the month, however, all abilities are welcome at any time.  Another fantastic option is to do a private session or two before taking a class, that way, you can learn the basics without feeling pressured to ‘keep up’ with the class.

Curious Seeker:
I think yoga is intimidating for many of us,

Coach: well, Yoga is a 6,000 year-old radical proven path of self transformation created by Enlightened Masters!   it’s self-confrontational by design, because 1) it weeds out the timid, insincere, wannabes and 2) only through difficulty are we freed from it….often, that which challenges us most is precisely where the greatest fruit of self-cultivation lies.

Curious Seeker:
and we are not comfortable with how to begin. Just the term ‘high performance yoga’ makes me tremble.  I will give it thought.

Coach: don’t be scared; be sacred!    actually i called it “High Performance Yoga” for a multi-layered effect;  it really means,  “Divine Action Union.”     you?   you  just get through that front door,  i’ll take wonderful care of you and after your first class you’ll be like, “OMG…!   What TOOK me sooo long to do this?!”   trust.
