The Full Strawberry Moon as She rises ever so gracefully like Brahman’s chariot racing upon lotus wheels and crystal pools of stars…the ridge below Her is ‘Raiders Ridge” and the silhouette to the left is from a Prayer Flag hung outside my office window at the WF Temple H(om)e…a Colorado Blue Spruce tree grounds all this loftiness as does the Ujjayi thunder of the unseen in this photo Animas River flowing at 4,500 cfs…what a Blessing it is to fall asleep beside such wild thunder and lofty Elders…
• Full Strawberry Moon – June
This name was universal to every Algonquin tribe. However, in Europe they called it the Rose Moon. Also because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during the month of June . . . so the full Moon that occurs during that month was christened for the strawberry!
