now, when feeble ilg sees a predictable picture like this,
my First Wholistic Thought is:
“MAN!  would broken-back ilg LOVE to be able to experience what this posture must FEEL like!!”

my next (egoic) thought-wave was something like this;

“Well, goody two-shoes for you…however,  let’s get your nubile butt and svelte spine beneath a fully loaded
Barbell and see how many Back Squats you can pump out….or how many PullUps you can crank off, or how equally svelte your time can be during a skate ski race or a mountain trail race?”

such is the horridly judgmental (or impeccably wise and true to the Ancient yogis) perspective of feeble ilg
who has tried so hard over the past 5 decades to live out loud the veracity of physiologic and thus yogic versatility, capability, durability that was the original trait of the Enlightened Ones (think here of MahaYogi Jesus’s mind-boggling veracity of willingness toward unthinkable suffering for the compassionate sake of Serving By Example).

it’s not that feeble ilg dislikes studio, asana-specific yogis…not at all…ilg remains in awe of their prowess upon the hardwood floored Cave..however,

really?

c’mon…show ME the veracity of your yoga-asana across the physiologic/mental spectrum!

that is all…

your feeble teacher

    Hey EC,
    This post touched a cord – I work with folks who are mastering “moving'” – people with MS, spinal cord injury, and Parkinsons – they come to my class once a week and we practice. Everyone at first thought they couldn’t possibly practice yoga – (like the yogi in the pic) – however, the true practice of yoga has nothing to do with the “outer pose”. The yogis in my class might not make yoga journal ( although they sure should) but they are on the steep path and making progress in the body, the mind, the spirit. Thank you EC LH

    Wonder-full post by ec and response by LH. I am blessed to have access to teachers who encourage and accommodate. Just what the doctor (should have but didn’t) ordered for a geezer wanna be athlete like me. Yoga, the bike, some running, iron temple, ski trails soon to be covered by our first go(o)d snow here in o-high-o. Life is go(o)d! rick

    Precious Tribal Brothers and Sisters…
    thank you soooo much for your input…you know, it would be so easy for ilg to post a bunch of “Coach’s Vents” on so many spirit-wrenching aspects of modern American life in Kali Yuga….i do my Highest not too vent too often. when i do, those entries get the most input. it’s a microscopic version of our tendency to gravitate toward drama, which is why, regardless of probably being able to gather many more subscribers, ilg doesn’t Vent that much. maybe ilg has learned s(om)ething here…and can work on more skillful means of venting without venting…hmmmm
