today, during my 1-hour uphill Mountain Bike Time Trial Workout, ilg NEARLY got crushed head-on by one of Durango’s seemingly omnipotent white pick-ups (yes, the kind i have nightmares about)…he was absolutely flying down the steep gravel road of Junction Creek, cutting the apex of the turn right into me…if it was for my years of WF Training, no iPods, and trained Heightened Awareness? ilg would not be Here Now, and Dewa would be fatherless, i’m sure…It is important to reflect calmly, again and again in regular meditation, that death is real and comes without warning.
don’t be like the pigeon in the Tibetan proverb: He spends all night fussing about, making his bed, and dawn comes up before he has even had time to go to sleep.
dat’s why i kiss my girls each time before leaving the casa…one never knows…leave them with a kiss…

ilg has told the story a million times; however, so attached to His Mantra (RAM) was Gandhi, that when the assisinators’ bullets punctured the Maha Yogi’s body?
all Gandhi exhaled was, “RAM!!!!”
that story is one reason, why,
when that Pick Up was out of control, raging toward ilg?
ilg would have entered the Bardo on the Mantra…that to ilg?
is a HUGE spiritual victory!

Well, I was hit by one of those trucks a couple of weeks ago….minutes after Geoffry Taylor’s yoga class….my mantra was on my mind and so … there I was right where you were and by the grace of something we are still here…and yes indeed it was a one of those moments when it might have gone another direction. Thank you for the reminder. I’m glad that we didn’t meet up in the Bardo…at least not yet….Love to you EC from LH
