So, today at Track Practice where i help Coach Gerry Geraghty by teaching yoga, and other track stuff with the 14 kids ranging from 5-12,  Coach Gerry who is known to wax a bit long-winded in his many stories of athletic dharma was talking to the kids about how an athlete of his was at the State Championships and was in his “Set” position when he moved his butt just an inch or so which is a violation of track rules…once in the Set position,  the athlete cannot move at all until the Start Gun goes off…

“You see,” Coach GG explained to the kids – some of whom were much more enchanted by the sudden onset of the field water sprinklers – “there is an official with a gun who watches very closely all the athletes to make sure they don’t break the rules and my athlete moved his butt just one inch and sure enough, do you know what happened?”

Blank stares stared back at Coach Gerry…so he stalwartly continued the conclusion of his teaching,

“Well, the official shot his gun and my athlete was disqualified.”

It was Dewa’s voice that rose from the bunch,
“Did he kill him?!”
