If the seemingly chronic spate of recent world/state/regional/local news this past winter/spring/summer has gotten you down?
Here is sweat-based hope from a young, resilient bright Light; Dewachen Ilg (aka; Dewa – her name is Tibetan for “Golden Light Of Bliss”). Age 10.
With a veritable landslide of recent mountain running race results from Dewa – daughter of Durango’s questionable celebrity
mountain athlete/coach/author/yoga teacher; steve ilg and her triple-threat movie/tv/stage actress mother, Joy Kilpatrick?
Well, Dewachen is inspiring thousands already by her wholistic outdoor and
indoor accomplishments. Dewa set a new 12-under Course Record at the Kendall Mountain Run (July 14th)
for both male and female and finished 2nd in the 20-under Age Group and was the youngest finisher ever
in the history of the race. Prior to that, Dewa won the 12-under Blue Ribbon 5k in
Silverton and also won the 12-under in the 5k at the notoriously difficult Hardscrabble Race in Westcliffe, CO on
June 2nd. On the indoor side of things? Dewa will be in a leading role in THE BOOK OF YOU on August 4th at Durango Arts Center after
a summer of assistant teaching her mom’s theatre camp. Dewa and her parents will soon be teaching and inspiring other 8-12 year olds in their final
Wholistic Fitness® Kids Camp from August 6-9. For more info on that camp,
