“i asked the folks about a good hill for practice, and went to the steep part on Abineau. chugged up, and then snowplowed down. repeat. 5x. Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, Ilg-ji, and and an xtra for Shiva. my joints were screaming.  thought of how you would be literally flying by me. considering the last time i saw this hill i took the skis off and walked, it’s progress…” – WF Online Student PY.  photo: ilg this past weekend in the Classic 10k toward a Silver Medal…yet losing my defense of the King Of The Mountain (ski/snowshoe) competition by 30 seconds  photo by Pat Hogan, courtesy: Chama Ski Classic

With one of my most sublime Students and Devotees…”PY”.  photo by WF Shishya Kassar this fall during a Training Camp here in Durango.  This February, PY (aka; Julie Mueller to the Outer World) is going to attempt to solo on her first attempt, the 75-kilometer, 4-sport Sacred WF Pilgrimage;  The Mt. Taylor Winter Quadrathlon, consisting of cycling, running, nordic skiing, and snowshoeing up and then back down the 11,000+ Sacred Peak of Mount Taylor (Tsoodzil – Blue Bead or Turquoise Mountain) near Grants, New Mexico.  PY does not know how to nordic ski.  She admits she is scared.  I tell her, “There is a lot of Sacred in the word; Scared.” She admits she “might cry,” so  i tell her, “A lot of the Why is answered by a go(o)d cry.” i’ll be there too, upon those Kachina Spirited slopes of Tsidool once again, attempting to defend my other Overall Title from last winter in the Mixed Pairs Division.

Y’all GOTTA MAKE THESE SACRED WF PILGRIMAGES:

– Iron Horse Bicycle Race in May…Imogene Pass Race in September…Mt. Taylor Winter Quadrathlon in February…

Rinpo Championji!

FANTASTIC JOB!!!!
here’s why you’re still king to me: py was bedridden until sunday. sunday, i did Enduro Upper and a 20 min swim. had, just HAD to get outside today, so i went to the Nordic center and took an official group classic lesson with Cathy. SUPER useful! (oh, so that’s what you mean when you say snowplow). i asked the folks about a good hill for practice, and went to the steep part on Abineau. chugged up, and then snowplowed down. repeat. 5x. Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, Ilg-ji, and and an xtra for Shiva. my joints were screaming.  thought of how you would be literally flying by me. considering the last time i saw this hill i took the skis off and walked, it’s progress…going up was pretty easy once i understood the technique.
as for Tsidool, well it’s gonna be tough. i will probably look like a clown. i might cry. i will make it down, however, it might take some time….13 minutes (Ilg’s record) times 4? 5? 6?

still coughing, and its still kind of gross and productive…however i feel pretty good. had 4 days of full complete rest Wed-Sat.
back to work tomorrow.
any TAFs on Snapping Twig and spin in the am?
any TAFs on a Durango Pilgrimage this Fri-Mon?
