Today – amazingly enough – marks the one-week out from perhaps my most special of all my three Sacred Sweat Pilgrimages of WF;  the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic…at age 50 (which i turn during the 3-Day Race) ilg can BARELY BELIEVE how long, how treasured, how spiritually scintillating my humble, sweat-contingent life has been and thus remains…enjoy, be inspired…cuz, truly,  your feeble coach really, really digs deep into every physiologic and psychologic realm to bring forth for you what remains the most unique, effective Path of Self Transformation through personal fitness that has c(om)e to grace Kali Yuga…Blessed Be All…

probably before you were awake this morning?
i’d had already c(om)pleted my first and most important workout of any day…
my Early Morning Ritual…based upon an advanced version of my Wing’d Angel DVD

it remains important to ilg whenever i arrive on a Start Line of an endurance race or workout like today?
that when i glance around me at the Warriors?
that ilg has already done an inner/outer workout that very few – if any of them – could follow…
regardless of their age
i call it, “Wholistic Karmic Stock”

next stop was the tremendous Durango Devo (world-class producing local youth racing team) Bike Swap where we totally scored Dewachen’s new 16″ bike (of course without training wheels, after all, she IS 4!) and a killer Tag-A-Long, which will now enable Dewa to pedal and balance on her own extension of one of our commute bicycles!   can you say, “Yeah, baby!!!”

then?  it was into the Culture Club Ride of Local Hammerheads…the A/B Ride to Coal Bank Pass along next week’s race course of the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic route…here i am executing ego-control via the Blessed Mantra about 1-mile from the summit of the lung-and-leg-withering ascent of the first of two significant passes along the race route next Saturday…at this point?  i’m about 38-miles from Durango and have already worked my way into the top 10 from over 40 starting riders…great pic by Ananda

this pic was taken before Coal Bank Pass as i was suffering to close a gap to the lead group in front of me…what else is new?  ilg will be doing the same thing in the Bardo! as will you…ilg prays and dedicates all my LifeWork toward…your Bardo Navigation Higher!!!  technical note to my cycling students;  see how my head is drooping?  that is NOT what i want from you…no matter how deep into the Pain Cave you go…chin up…focus on the summit drawing you Higher…

…approaching the 10,640′ summit of Coal Bank Pass…at this point, i left Durango 2:13 minutes earlier…and without too much difficulty,  ilg is on pace for next week’s Noble Effort over these same paces just with a whole Higher Level of Hurt…however, with the Hurt?  ilg Realizes i am also Halfway to Heaven at this point…both physically (to Silverton) and metaphysically (intensity familiarity in the Bardo gets you halfway to Dewachen)…pic by Ananda

…Speaking of Dewachen….yeah, ilg must admit…it soothes the physical pain quite a lot when you know you’ll get this Love from your daughter at the summit…another great pic by Ananda…

…lead group summit; Coal Bank Pass…
pic by ilg…when Dewa saw this group of gathered Champions?…

…she wanted me to help her show them her superbly aerodynamic position on Daddy’s race bike…
they were all, by the way, duly impressed!

…dropping down from the high country to the moderately high country…i use a hike at Purgatory Ski Resort with my girls as my Stage One Active Recovery from my cycling effort…yeah, i know…somebody please cue the Sound Of Music soundtrack…

…into a picnic beside Hermosa Creek…

…whereupon Dewa does her thang with the Flower Beings…note the sign in the tree behind her…

…dat’s the type of signage that feeble ilg can get behind;
a Zen Sign…

then…Active Recovery Phase 2 for new old Daddy begins with riding our bikes to the Dandelion Festival one-and-a-half-gorgeous-downstream-miles to Rotary Park…yes, Dewa rode her new 16’r all the Way there (with a little bit of assistance with me riding next to her).  there was Dandelion Beer…(yum!!)…

…teachings on how to use compost as an organic way to treat lawns and gardens organically…

…and Dandelion Soup, Salad, and Entrees…next to live music and a ton of kids just vibing on the Durango High…

…before it was time to crank the 1.5 miles back h(om)e…

…and that, my Noble Friends Along The Wholeness Path?
is how we roll it in Durango…
speaking of rolling it…
i’m going next door to the college kids big going away party and bonfire…
ilg has earned their love and acceptance…
they kind of fancy ilg…sitting around the campfire, they might think of me like part Bob Dylan, part Layton Kor, part Vegaard Ulvang…or…

they just don’t know what to think of me…

which is truly?

the story of ilg’s life…

Dare To Share Your Light,
Your Love,
Your experience of Sensation in this remarkable incarnation…

dat’s why we take Sacred Pilgrimages like the Iron Horse…
they inevitably lift us onto a Higher Vibration…

    Dear Coach,

I am kind of nervous with Dewa, on her bike, on the ride along. Just tell me she is secure.
