anybody else need convincing that a steady diet of HP Yoga® will help ANY Warrior in ANY sport?…enjoy this personal-record setting account from one of my most stalwart HP Yogi’s here in Durango;  bRad, shown above a couple of years ago at the finish line of the Iron Horse…which he’ll race again next weekend, thus completing my WF Sacred Sweat Triad Pilgrimages in a year:  Imogene Pass Race, Mt. Taylor Winter Quad, and the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. How ’bout YOU??!   Where are YOU at in training for one or all THREE of the WF Sacred Sweat Pilgrimages? Don’t worry,  i’ll train you;  hec, even committing to just one,  will transform your physical and spiritual selves…just ask bRad:

“EC,

What does one get when they add  “Spirit of Repetition” + Mantra + Breath?

A Deadly Weapon!

I did the DWC time trial last night – Because of your teaching and my new deadly weapon, I obliterated all prior PRs on Coal Bank.  How did I do that you may ask?

As can be typical during a long sustained hard effort, occasionally my mind would start to wander which meant, my shoulders would hunch up, my core would soften, my legs would feel like they were about to explode and finally my pace would start to fall . . . 9.5 MPH, then 9.0 MPH oh no 8.0 MPH!  Every time this happened, I heard your voice from Wednesday’s PROP – “don’t lose the Spirit of Repetition!”.  Upon hearing those words in my head, I would grit my teeth (for a nanosecond), breathe and start the mantra “Easy Smooth, Easy Smooth” over again.  Each time I refocused on the spirit of repetition, my breath and my mantra at the same time – my shoulders would relax, my core would engage, my legs felt strong and my pace would increase again 8.5 MPH, 9.5 MPH, 10 MPH!

See the results here:  http://durangowheelclub.com/2012/05/17/2012-dwc-time-trial-series-results-april19/

Not bad for a guy who still doesn’t know what setup he is running on his bike. 25? 23?  Sure, whatever it takes!

Thank you for adding a new deadly weapon to my quiver!

    Way to go bRad!
I read this today before our Saturday club ride–and it inspired me to hang on just a little longer.
See you at the start line, again and endlessly again :)
