we now pick up with my final sentence of my prior Blog:

So,  ilg handed over the driver seat of my new Tacoma Off Road Racing truck, with her 2007 Corolla (yeah, we are DEF a Toyota loyalist family… sponsor us, plzzz!) in tow..

as Dewa took the wheel of my new Tacoma with her car in tow?

this happened within spitting distance of the gas station island whereupon she took over driving:

ok,  so,  ilg literally screamed ‘D>>>STOP!!!”
D:  OMG… WHAT?  (as she kept driving as ilg could literally HEAR the crashing of metal vs. curb) 
Daddy:  STOP!!! 
D; Chill…OK… 
Daddy:  BRAKE!!!
D:  Ok, Ok, Calm Down… WHAT!?!? 

So, after some nifty saving courtesy of one of Dewa’s packed bags to fill the obvious gap between curb and trailer tow,  Daddy got her car outta the predicament much to the amusement of several onlookers…

That was  The End of Dewa’s driving/towing contribution to our 1,003 mile journey from Des Moines to Durango… ilg upshifted.  After solo driving from Durango to Des Moines,  ilg knew it was all on my watch again…

The things we do for our kids…

So, all was fine until, uh, in somewhere Nebraska,  we needed fuel and turned off the interstate whereupon we heard a horrid noise from the trailer… we pulled over and saw that we had lost a spring loaded cotter from the trailer tow and fortunately had a WalMart within walking distance to do a McGiver Fix.  This fix was and remains a highlight of the trip.  this Forum won’t allow the video yet see my social media for our McGiver Fix… then,  we were back on the road…

we made it to Sterling, Colorado, cuz we just can’t sleep in Nebraska… ugh…  we had a ton of fun reliving our many years of road tripping together while on the Jr. National Nordic Ski Racing Circuit, XC, and Track plus many other Daddy/Daughter adventures of which probably 80% can be viewed on my YouTube Channel

the morning after Sterling stop?  Dewa introduced ilg to a new sport!   I know right?!?!  one of Americas most noted multisport athletes introduced to a new sport by his daughter!     enter:  Disc Golf!  SOOO MUCH FUN!!!!  (note:  ilgs short game SUCKS!)

Yet, we had a ton of fun and finally it was Dewa’s time to turn her Daddy onto a new sport!    ilg is into it!  

Eventually we made it back to Durango and ilg went to Trailwork after back to back Durango/Iowa/Iowa/Durango driving days… it’s soooo amazing having Dewa back beneath the Sacred Peak!   more later,  love now…
