pic;  ilg on the sharp end, being belayed by Dewachen Ilg…technical climbing has not only been a lifelong passion,  it and Nordic Skiing has apparently doubled in sacredness with my now-adult daughter still sharing outdoor athlete adventures of world class levels alongside her (very) ol’ man… 

ilg has always embraced training indoors for all my decades of high level outdoor performance.   ilg understands why a lot of die hard outdoor athletes “HATE” training in gyms, or doing yoga, or indoor cardio, or meditation…

that’s predictably ego-specific;  like I said,  I get it.

it’s easy to do what you love.  yet, specificity is the bane of wholeness and imo?  health longevity.

pic;  Columbine Beings seem to cheer ilg on during a recent trail run way up high in Spencer Basin… Indoor training is preciously priceless to spending decades of high level mountain running, skiing, and climbing without needing all the seemingly pandemic joint-replacements for people even much younger than ilg.   Wholistic Fitness® is Turtles Island’s pioneering and proven Path of health longevity.

 

probably when few – if any – of the many haters of ilg’s embrace of indoor training from back in 1981 are as healthy as ilg let alone still be able to beat ilg in say more than a couple of sports are around these days?   it just makes ilg inwardly smile at how Blessed ilg has been to be a capable Conduit – let alone Founder –  of this amazing Path of Wholistic Fitness®.

I mean,  ilg still has not ever seen nor spent one cent on any western medical “check up” or “insurance”… nor has ilg ever had a secondary let alone a “Primary Physician.”   zero pills.  no drugs.  just Sunrider Herbal Whole Foods, Asea Cell Signaling Molecules, and BodyHealth Perfect Aminos and that,  along with living the focused fun of the multipart/multidisicplined Proven Path of Wholistic Fitness® has been and remains a Great Lofty Blessing of this amazing incarnation.

yet, more pragmatically speaking?  why did I just spend the last three days of structured workouts indoors?

Cuz mid July this ‘ol bag o bones gotta start concussing the joints again running and when you’re a Pro Trailworker with 5 decades of high level training/performance? Well, let’s just say at 64? ilg has to periodizationally train for my 7th and beyond decades of competitive fitness … so ilg is watching joint concussion these years.. would rather be riding bikes more, yet 1) can’t afford them and 2) full bodyweight endurance sports are important for bone mass and neuromuscular plasticity… plus, ilg gotta condition my mental strength for upcoming ski erg sesh’s, plus ilg can burn more kcals indoors than out…plus? Wildfire Smoke 😭
